List of Podcast Directories

Readers might have noticed I’ve gotten into podcasting more seriously in the last couple of months with Webside Chats.

The reasons are many:

  1. To open new channels of communication
  2. To open new channels of traffic from podcast directories and communities
  3. To get content on iTunes - the largest of them all
  4. To give readers something to listen to and increase the value of my overall content range
  5. To give social proof that I can get anyone on the phone to talk about blogging, branding, marketing, success, and search engine stuff
  6. To get links and strengthen relationships with other bloggers and experts from the interviews
  7. To get a brand new feed of strictly one kind of content (audio) in podcast format to syndicate all over the web
  8. To reach people on their mobile devices with audio

I could keep going, but you get the idea. You can open a lot of doors when you start audio or video podcasting.

Getting Listed in Podcast Directories

One of the things we are doing today is getting listed in all these podcast directories. Robin Good, true to his name, has put together the most comprehensive list of podcast directories I’ve found to date. While anyone can create a list, it takes more time and thought to lay out a description for each site as Robin has done.

With my Webside Chats podcast listed in each of these podcast directories, the traffic and subscribers for Friday Traffic Report will continue increasing as I am able to reach new people hanging out on podcast sites.

The content is also highly linkable and mobile. The podcast player can be put all over the web, and you can bet we’re doing that as you read this as well!
